Which one is cheaper
The maths, so you don't have to do it.
Shorter plans cost more per day. That's worth knowing before you buy one, so here are the two crossover points.
Daily against monthly
Buying five separate days costs more than a month. If you expect to connect on more than four days, take the monthly plan.
Weekly against monthly
Two weeks is a penny under the monthly price. Past that, the monthly plan wins and comes with a trial.
Daily and weekly exist for the trip that ends, not as a cheaper way to use WrapVPN all year. If you're connecting most weeks, monthly costs less and there's nothing extra in it for us.
Free or paid
What the free plan actually gives you.
The free plan is a limited amount of the real product. It isn't a slower or less private version of it.
| Free | Any paid plan | |
|---|---|---|
| Time included | 3 hours a week | Unlimited |
| Session length | 1 hour, then reconnect | Unlimited |
| Devices | 2 | Unlimited |
| Server locations | Selected | All |
| Connection speed | Full, never throttled | |
| Encryption and protocol | Identical | |
| No-logs policy | Identical | |
| Kill switch and leak protection | Included | |
Four rows here are deliberately identical on both sides. Privacy and speed aren't the upsell, and a reader checking whether the free plan is crippled should be able to see that in a glance.
Billing and cancelling
What happens after you pay.
The part most pricing pages leave out, and the part support gets asked about most.
Through the App Store or Google Play on your device, using the payment method already on your store account. Paying on the web is not available yet.
From your store subscription settings, at any time. Access continues until the period you've paid for ends, and nothing is taken afterwards.
Monthly starts with 7 days free. Cancel before day seven and you're not charged. If you cancel afterwards, the month you've paid for still runs to its end.
Handled by the store you paid through, under Apple's or Google's own refund policies. Request one from your store account rather than from us.
Protection stops and the app returns to the free plan. Your account, settings and trusted networks are kept.
Questions
Asked about billing specifically.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes, through your store subscription settings. A change takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for.
Is there a discount for paying for a year?
No. A year-long plan would work against the reason the shorter ones exist, so the monthly price is the floor.
Does the price change after the first period?
No. $3.99 a month is the ongoing price, not an introductory rate that rises at renewal.
What currency am I charged in?
Prices are set in US dollars. Your store converts to your local currency and applies any tax at checkout, so the amount you see there is the amount you pay.
