Two questions worth asking.
Before handing your connection to anyone, it helps to know what pays for their servers and what they keep about you. Both answers are here.
- Funded by subscriptions only
- Built on WireGuard
- Everything we store is listed below
Why we built it
Most VPN subscriptions outlive the trip that prompted them.
Someone books a flight, reads that hotel Wi-Fi is a bad idea, and signs up for two years. The trip lasts nine days. The renewal email arrives the following spring, for a service they haven't opened since.
WrapVPN sells days, weeks, and months because that's closer to how the need actually behaves. Protection runs for as long as you've paid for, then stops — there's no renewal to remember.
The engineering underneath is deliberately unoriginal. WrapVPN runs on WireGuard, which is open, widely deployed, and small enough that one person can read the whole codebase in an afternoon.
That leaves us competing on what we actually control: how long a plan runs, how fast it connects, and how little we keep.
How we're paid
Subscriptions. That's the whole business model.
It's worth asking any VPN, especially a cheap one — if a service isn't charging you, something else is paying for the servers. Here's our answer in full.
What pays for WrapVPN
- Daily, weekly, and monthly subscriptions. Paid by people who use the product.
- Nothing else. There is no second revenue line.
What doesn't
- We don't sell or share browsing data. Not to advertisers, data brokers, or partners.
- We don't run ads in the app. The free session is a limited sample of the paid product.
- No third-party analytics SDKs ship in the app. Nothing tracking you on our behalf in the background.
The free session lets you try the product before paying. If the business model ever changes, it will be described here and in the app before it takes effect.
